Not sure what's happened to kmart lately. I used to be able to quickly and easily find what I needed and get out with a minimum of fuss. Now it seems all the sections are designed to make you go through every other section to get to it and they rarely have anything I want when I do get there. Moving the checkouts to the middle of the store is a baffling move, relying on a majority of self checkouts ensures long wait times as less knowledgeable people struggle to work them out. This also results in the annoying "bag check" at the front of the store. You're not preventing theft, you're accusing every paying customer who walks out the door of theft.
OMG Kmart Goulburn, have you completely lost the plot? Moving the checkouts to THE CENTRE OF THE STORE? What counter-intuitive madness is this? Oh, and after wandering around for half an hour thinking I was the one who was nuts, when I finally located the checkouts, I waited ten minutes for the assistants to conclude their extremely important conversation about their personal lives and condescend to do their job. Yes, I could have used the self-service checkout, but why the hell should I? A quality retail experience is defined by quality customer service. And why don't you sell insulated/blockout curtains? Goulburn is currently going through a shocker heatwave, insulated/blockout curtains would walk out the door. If the customers could find the checkouts of course. Not going back until the checkouts are returned to the front of the store.
spent over an hr in the shop, resulting in more than a full trolley load of items.there was no manned checkout open so went through self serve instead -which in itself was unmanned to start with.I must have had a dodgy computer as i only got through 3 items when it started playing up , it let me scan an item but wouldn't acknowledge it when i put it in the bag, had to wait for someone to turn up. He obviously didn't know what he wax doing as it took a couple of attempts for him to log in and clear it. From then on the computer kept making errors to which the obnoxious little man stated " you have to leave the stuff in the bag and on the scale " - which we were doing ( but wouldn't be able to for all the trolley load of stuff that i had) and again he struggled to log in and fix it , but walked away without fixing it and he then realised he had to come back .This occured approx 3/4 times were he had absolutely no initiative or common sense to clock on to my full trolley and offer to open a cashier. My patience was tested enough and I told him he can now rtn all these products as he was not in the least bit helpful just obnoxious I am going to big w instead today to by gifts for birthdays. And i will b making an official complaint
So much variety. Helpful staff. Well laid out store.
The staff were friendly and the store was well laid out so every thing was easy to find
