I love this park. It was a great place to be on a hot day. Plenty of park benches to sit on under the huge, beautiful trees. It was always a compulsory traveller's stop when we had young kids. The playground is still good and well maintained. Good, clean, accessible toilets too. Close enough to cafes or supermarkets for picnicking food. In the summertime it is a cool oasis. If you're traveling with kids through Goulburn towards evening I recommend a stop in the park for the kids to play then have dinner in the soldier's club across the road - decent food and prices.
As far as we are concerned, this park is the heart of Goulburn, in every sense. A set stop on our Hume journeys, it not only offers a large, well-kept toilet block, but pleasant paths to wander, picnic benches and tables, handsome old trees, a fountain, a glass-house crowded with beautiful blooms, a children's play-area...There are plenty of take-away eating places within walking distance, so buy and bring your lunch here and relax.Bless the civic foresight that created this pleasant green space, and three cheers for the civic efficiency that keeps it pleasant.
Some lovely flowers in the glasshouse and gardens. There's a lot of coffee shops in the area that you can get a cup of coffee from then have a nice relaxing time in the park. There is a regular farmers market that has local produce and just around the corner is a great second hand book shop if you fancy a read with your coffee
